Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Ground pork
  • Bread
  • Egg
  • Parmesan
  • Parsley
  • Garlic
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make Moist Meatballs

To make moist meatballs, get bread crumbs and mix them with â…” cup of water. Allow to sit for five minutes, and mash with a fork.

Mix the ingredients- ground beef, ground pork, minced garlic, parsley, parmesan cheese, one egg, salt, and pepper- in a bowl and stir with your hand. Do not overmix, or your meatball will become tough.

Roll meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Make two teaspoons of meatballs or use your desired size. Note that if your meatball is large, it can increase cooking time.

How to Cook JuicyMeatballs

There are two ways to cook meatballs; the sauteed or baked method.

Sauteed Meatballs: This is my favorite way of making meatballs. Start by heating a large bib stick pan over medium heat. Then add two tablespoons of oil to it. Place meatballs when the oil is hot, adding them one at a time. If the meatball is much, cook in batches, do not overcrowd the meatballs.

Saute for six to eight minutes, turning every two minutes until all sides are brown. Or when the internal temperature is 160 degrees F when checked with a meat thermometer.

When cooked, remove from the pan to avoid overcooking. Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy.

Baked Meatballs: If you like your meatball baked, it’s easy. Preheat the oven and line the meatballs 2 inches apart. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 to 23 minutes. Or until it reads 160 degrees F on an instant meat thermometer.

If you want a prettier color, boil the meatball in the last 2 to 3 minutes.

Pro Tips for the Best Meatballs

To make the perfect moist meatballs, avoid some pitfalls, as they will make your meatball tough and dry.

  • Ensure all meatballs are of aams size to promote even cooking.
  • Never overmix the meat to prevent tough meatballs.
  • Space meatballs in the baking sheet as overcrowding can cause the meat to steam cook and prevent a good swear from forming.
  • So not skip the bread and water mixture as they help to promote the juiciness of the meat. It also helps the meatball to remain juicy after preheating.
  • Wet hands when forming meatball rolls to form a perfect meatball.

How to Serve Meatballs

You can serve your meatball with any of the following;

Meatballs & Marinara Sauce: This meatball serve is good if you have frozen meatballs and want them warm. Add marinara sauce and meatballs in a skillet and heat 2 cups of marinara sauce in a skillet. Allow simmering till it’s heated through. Serve as spaghetti and meatballs.

BBQ Sauce & Meatballs: Put meatballs in BBQ sauce and warm. Serve as an appetizer.

Meatball Subs: place meatballs in marinara sauce in a hoagie roll. Add mozzarella and broil for one to two minutes till the cheese is melted. Enjoy.

Meatball Soup: Add meatballs to a soup or in any soup that requires meatballs and simmer.

Meatball in Gravy: Add meatballs into your favorite gravy and serve over spaghetti or creamy mashed Potatoes.

Wrap Up!

Moist meatballs are great, flavorful meals you can make for dinners or during busy nights. You can also make large quantities as they can easily be frozen and cooked later. A typical meatball can stay in the freezer for 3 months.

No need to thaw frozen meatballs before cooking. Just reheat straight from the freezer.
