When thinking about reheating your pizza, several methods come to mind. While reheating pizza with a microwave is fast, the pizza usually comes out with the bottom slice soggy.

Oven, on the other hand, can come out with a crispy crust but gets them too dry. But with an air fryer, you don't get any of these downside. The pizza comes out right every time.

It takes about 7 minutes to make the ultra-crispy slice heated through. However, cooking time varies based on the thickness of the crust.

Why Reheat Pizza in an Air Fryer?

Reheating pizza with an air fryer is the best option if you want a crispy pizza crust. That's because the air fryer functions like a mini convection oven.

It has a heating element with a fan that circulates hot air around the pizza and gets it all crisp without drying out. This also makes the pizza heat evenly.

Using a microwave is not a great option as it is best for heating liquids, not solids. This is the reason why the pizza sauce usually gets overcooked before the cheese remelts.

Using an oven takes longer time to cook than an air fryer. A 350-degree oven will heat pizza for twelve to fifteen minutes, while an air fryer will do so for three to four minutes.

How to Reheat Pizza in Air Fryer

Reheating pizza with an air fryer is easy. All you have to do is follow these instructions.

  • First, preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F and preheat it for three to four minutes.
  • Arrange your pizza slices and prepare them. Then spray some oil on it to prevent the top from drying out.
  • After that, add some water to the outer basket of the air fryer. One or two teaspoons of water will do. Pouring one or two teaspoons of water under the drawer will prevent the crust from drying out.
  • This way, as the pizza reheats, the water will turn into steam and keep the crust moist.
  • Position the pizza on the air fryer. Ensure they don't overlap as overlapped slices can result in uneven cooking. Worse, as slices can get stuck together by the cheese.
  • Air fry pizza for four minutes and check if heated through. If not, cook for another minute until the cheese is melted and the crust is hot and crispy.
  • Thinner crust heats faster than thicker ones. If the crust is thick, heat for about five to six minutes or more to heat thoroughly.
  • Remove pizza using a mitt or placeholder. Transfer the pizza to a plate and serve.

Quick Reheating Tips

  • To get a perfect result, apply a light coating of oil on the pizza before preheating.
  • Do not overlap pizza in the oven.
  • Do not overcrowd the oven basket or tray with pizza. Preheat in batches if the quantity is much.
  • Consider sprinkling some seasoning, like red pepper flakes, oregano, etc, after reheating.

Wrap Up!

Aside from being fast and easy, reheating pizza with an air fryer produces a crispier and evenly cooked pizza. If you want a perfect pizza crust, spray little oil on the pizza and do not overlap them. Also, always check the pizza in the air fryer every minute to ensure they don't get too dry.
