I'd like to feast on some yummy chicken wings, you know how stressful it can be deep frying a batch. But with an Air fryer, it is goodbye to all that stress. These chicken wings only need a light coating of cooking spray, and the rest is magic.

An air fryer has the ability to create a frenzied force of hot air which is evenly distributed with the air fryer fan. When this hot air swirls around the wings, it turns the skin to a crispy, golden brown without all the added calories that come from frying.

In this article, I'll teach you how to make crispy chicken wings that are second to none.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of chicken wings split at the joint, and tips removed
  • Salt
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing, for serving

How to Cook Chicken Wings with Air Fryer

First, spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and set it aside. Using a paper towel pat the chicken wings dry to remove the water, then sprinkle salt on them. Place the wings on the air fryer basket in a way that they are not touching.

Turn on the air fryer, and set it at 360 degrees F and cook for 12 minutes. Remove, flip and cook for another 12 minutes. Flip the wings again, and take the heat to 390 degrees F and cook for another 6 minutes or until the outside becomes extra crispy.

To ensure it is well cooked, use a digital meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature is 165 degrees F. You may need to adjust your cooking time accordingly. Smaller wings will cook faster than larger wings.

Another tip to make crispy wings in the air fryer is to add a little baking powder to the mixture. Baking powder is what helps make crispy skin. Carefully remove the air fryer wings from the air fryer, toss in your favorite sauce, and serve with your favorite sides.
