The Brine Chicken Wings Recipe: Easy and Yummy

You will need ingredients for both bringing the wings and grilling them afterward. So, it has two sections. Ingredients for brining:

  • Salt 
  • Water 
  • Soy sauce 
  • Black pepper powder 
  • 2 pounds of chicken wings

Ingredients for grilling:

  • 1/4 cup of  balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsps. of olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 cloves of  garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme and rosemary

Cooking Process:

The cooking steps for the recipe are pretty simple and straightforward. It won’t cause you much problem, even if you are a beginner at cooking.

  • Take a medium bowl. Make sure it will accommodate the chicken wings adequately. Now, pour the salt, soy sauce, and water into it. Also, add the black pepper and continue mixing the ingredients until the salt dissolves entirely in it. 
  • Then, add the chicken wings inside it and keep them for marinating with the brine. 
  • In a separate bowl, take the balsamic vinegar, rosemary, and thyme leaves, and minced garlic. Whisk it for a few minutes. Then add some olive oil in it and continue whisking the mixture until it blends properly. 
  • Then, add the mixture with the brined wings and toss the wings to coat with the paste. Now, keep the chicken wings marinating for the next 20 minutes. 
  • Set the grill at medium heat. Start grilling the wings. Also, brush the chicken wings with the remaining marinade and olive oil. 
  • You have to flip over the wings after 7 to 8 minutes. Then, continue grilling them for the next 7 to 8 minutes more.

You can serve the grilling chicken wings with tortillas or simple parathas.

Expert tips:

Chefs suggest that the brine concentration of salt in water shouldn’t be more than 6.5%. In ocean water, the brine percentage is 3.5, and also, it should work fine for the wings. Nonetheless, you may also add sugar with it if you wish.

These grilled chicken wings can be eaten as a separate dish. You can serve them with classic potato salad, sautéed vegetables, or roasted broccolini.

Dos and Don'ts:

  • You should use regular salt instead of many fancy items available in the market. The purpose is to enhance the wings' tenderness, not make them too flavorful. 
  • While grilling, make sure you keep the heat at a medium-level. If you increase the heat, it might burn the wings.
