You Won’t Believe the Best Recipe for Publix Chicken Wings

  • 1-1/2 pounds of Publix chicken wings
  • ½ cup of soy sauce
  • Brown sugar ¼ cup
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder and fresh minced ginger root
  • ½ cup of olive or vegetable oil

Cooking Process:

Now let’s take at the cooking steps of this popular chicken wings recipe.

  • We will use a casserole to prepare the recipe. Our casserole measured 9X9 inches, but you can opt for slightly bigger or smaller ones too.  Pour the garlic powder, ginger root, soy sauce, and vegetable oil into the pot.
  • Finally, add the brown sugar and start bending the mixture. You should continue mixing until the sugar dissolves entirely.
  • Now, cut the chicken wings into two medium pieces right at their joint. Take the wings one by one and dip them into the mixture to coat them properly. The coating should be light so that it gets a deep fry. If you coat the wings with too much of the mixture, it might end up undercooked.
  • Now, in a separate bowl, refrigerate the coated chicken wings for at least 4 hours. It helps the sweetness of sugar and the pungent aroma of ginger reach deep into the wings.
  • Now, switch on the oven and preheat it at 350°F.
  • Cover the chicken wings with aluminum foil or in an oven bowl. Then, place them inside the oven for baking. It would take around 40 minutes to bake the wings properly.
  • You should flip over the chicken wings halfway through the baking process. It ensures that all the parts are cooked properly.
  • Once baked properly, cook the wings for another 30 to 40 minutes. This time you have to cook them uncovered. It increases the aroma greatly.

Expert Tips:

If you want a light glaze on the chicken wings, you may add slight honey to the recipe. It gives a nice sweet feel. But you should reduce the brown sugar amount if you use honey for glazing.

  •  It is a slow-cook recipe. So, be prepared to invest some time in it. Don’t hurry.
  • When you cook the wings after baking, continuously turn them over. It ensures that every side is cooked properly.
